How To Use This Application

Getting Started

Welcome to Max Iron Workout Notes! This guide will help you get the most out of tracking your fitness journey.

1. Create Your Exercises

Before you can log workouts, you need to create exercises:

  • Navigate to Exercises from the menu
  • Click Create Exercise
  • Enter the exercise name and select the muscle group
  • Save your exercise to add it to your library
2. Build Workout Templates

Templates help you organize your workout routines:

  • Go to Workout Plans
  • Click Create Workout Template
  • Give your template a name (e.g., "Push Day", "Leg Day")
  • Add exercises from your library to the template
  • Save the template to reuse for future workouts
3. Log Your Workouts

Start tracking your progress by logging sets:

  • From Workout Plans, select a template
  • Click Create Workout to start a new session
  • For each exercise, log your sets with:
    • Weight: Amount lifted in pounds
    • Reps: Number of repetitions completed
    • RPE (Rate of Perceived Exertion): How hard the set felt (1-10 scale)
  • Add multiple sets for each exercise
  • Save your workout when complete
4. View Your History

Track your progress over time:

  • Visit Workout History to see all your logged workouts
  • Use filters to view workouts by date or template
  • Review your performance and identify trends
5. Analyze Your Progress (Streamlit Dashboard)

Get insights from your workout data:

  • Access the analytics dashboard to visualize your progress
  • View charts showing:
    • Weight progression over time
    • Rep ranges and volume trends
    • RPE patterns to monitor intensity
    • Volume by muscle group to ensure balanced training
  • Filter by date range, program, or exercise type
Tips for Success
  • Be Consistent: Log every workout to get accurate progress tracking
  • Use RPE: Track how hard each set feels to manage fatigue and recovery
  • Progressive Overload: Gradually increase weight, reps, or volume over time
  • Review Regularly: Check your analytics to spot plateaus or overtraining
  • Dark Mode: Toggle between light and dark themes using the button in the header
